Taking the JS115-6 as an example:
JS represents a squirrel cage rotor asynchronous motor.
115 refers to the 11th frame size.
5 indicates the core length.
6 denotes 6 poles.
Motor Overview
The JS series medium-sized squirrel cage motors can drive a variety of machinery, including fans, compressors, pumps, crushers, ball mills, machine tools, transport machinery, and other equipment. They are widely used in coal mines, mechanical industries, power plants, and other industrial and mining enterprises as prime movers.
The JS series squirrel cage high voltage three-phase asynchronous motors adopt a squirrel cage rotor design. These motors comply with the technical conditions specified in JB563-64 national standards and are of a protected type. If required, they can also be manufactured in a duct-ventilated type.
Protected motors should be installed at altitudes not exceeding 1,000 meters, with ambient air temperatures ranging from 0℃ to +40℃. The surrounding air should be clean, free from corrosive gases like acid and alkali. These motors are unsuitable for explosive or dusty environments.
For environments exceeding these conditions or with unclean air, duct ventilation systems should be used. In such cases, the cooling air entering both ends of the motor should be between 0℃ and +40℃. Additionally, the air pressure within the ducts and the motor should be higher than the surrounding air pressure. Fans, dust filters, etc., should be added if necessary.
These motors allow for full voltage direct starting. If the power grid does not permit this, reduced voltage starting can be used, although the starting torque will decrease in proportion to the square of the starting voltage.
Motor Structure
The basic mounting type of the Xi’an Lite simo motors JS Series 6KV, 10KV Squirrel Cage High Voltage Three-Phase Asynchronous Motor is horizontal installation with a foot-mounted frame. All models can use couplings to connect with the driven machinery.
The motor adopts a symmetrical radial ventilation system:
Cooling air enters through intake ports on both end caps.
Part of the air is blown over the stator coil ends by the rotor fan blades, while the remainder flows through radial ventilation channels in the rotor core.
The air exits through the outlet ports on the side of the motor frame.
For duct-ventilated motors, the ventilation system is similar.
Bearings: The motors use rolling bearings, as specified in Table 1. Lithium-based grease ZL-3 is used for lubrication.
From the motor’s shaft extension end, the terminal box is located on the right side of the frame.
Dual shaft extensions can be provided upon request. Either shaft extension can deliver the rated power of the motor (ball bearing ends can only transmit power via coupling).
If the motor’s load torque (such as driving fans or pumps) decreases proportionally with the square of the speed, the motor is allowed to run at low speeds for extended periods.
Notes for Ordering JS/JR Series High Voltage Motors
When placing an order, specify the motor model, power, speed regulation, voltage, frequency, noise level, and installation type. If the noise level is not specified, a level 2 motor will be supplied by default.
